Dolphin Cruises on the Cattywampus Catamaran

Join us for a day on the water on our custom build power catamaran, the only one like it on the Emerald Coast. The Cattywampus is the perfect vessel to enjoy unique eco cruises that offer some of the best sights and unforgettable experiences. Capt Tony and his first mate Daniel will give you a tour from Okaloosa Island to the Destin Harbor and into the Gulf of Mexico in search of our dolphin friends. We even make a stop to jump in the water to swim and snorkel.

Dolphin and Snorkel Cruise

We offer dolphin watching tours with a stop to get in the water on all of our cruise times. Guests are welcome to bring your own food, drinks, and small cooler. You may bring alcohol for guests 21yrs or older, please avoid glass. You are welcome to bring your own mask and snorkel. Snorkeling gear is available on board for guests. Capt and crew sanitize gear after every use. Don’t forget your towel and sunscreen!

This 3 hour late afternoon cruise offers a tour along the Emerald Coast looking for dolphins. It includes a stop to get in the water for snorkeling. Enjoy the view on the water and music along the way to the snorkel spot and the sunset view as we cruise across the bay back to The Gulf Restaurant. We do not sell or include drinks. This 3 hour cruise begins with a stop for swimming and snorkeling then we continue on for dolphin watching and ending the night with the Okaloosa Island Pier fireworks show. This cruise is only available from Memorial Day through Labor Day on the Wednesday Sunset Cruise and runs from 6:00 to 9:00 for the Okaloosa Island Pier firework show. We have a large vessel, U.S. Coast Guard approved up to 47 guests. Our catamaran is great for large parties looking to celebrate an event or a large family vacation. 3 hour cruise minimum. Catering and drinks are available to add on or bring your own. For more information click here

Making a Reservation

  • We highly recommend reservations in advanced for the Capt and Crew to prepare the vessel for departure. Most guests book the week of but the schedule is available months in advanced as well. Reservations available online or by calling 850-586-0450
  • You are not charged at the time of booking. We do ask for credit card information to hold a reservation for our cancelation policy. Payment taken the day of at check in. Cash payment is an option at check in.
  • Our vessel is U.S. Coast Guard approved up to 49 passengers. It is a large catamaran so there is plenty of space to hang out.
  • When you make a reservation online it will ask for credit card information to hold but you are not charged until you check in for the cruise. You may opt to pay in cash at check in. Cancel the day before to avoid being charged in full.
    If any weather causing cancelation of your cruise time you will not be charged but asked to reschedule or if necessary cancel the reservation.
    We recommend a reservation in advance to meet our trip minimum to run. If we do not meet the trip minimum of 10 passengers and you are not available to reschedule you will not be charged.
    Plan for early arrival; 30-45mins before departure time. Expect traffic delays in peak season especially late afternoon. Captain will not delay departure for late arrivals.
    If you no show or cancel close to departure time you will be charged in full for holding those spots. Call or text 24 hours in advance of departure if you need to reschedule.
  • Guests are welcome to bring your own snorkel gear. Snorkel mask and snorkel is available on board for guests use with adult and children sizes available. Capt and crew sanitize and rinse every piece of equipment as soon as the guest returns the gear. Please abide by Capts explanation on proper use of gear.
  • Life vests are on board for guests use. Adults and children are not required to where life vest during the cruise but are available at guest’s requests at any time.
  • The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has issued an Order (13998) requiring all guests and crew to wear face masks while onboard any public maritime vessel, including sightseeing tours. This will be enforced by the U.S. Coast Guard. This Order requires operators to use best effort to ensure that any person onboard is wearing a mask. This includes at check in, while boarding, disembarking, and for the duration of travel. The requirement to wear a mask does not apply while off the vessel at the snorkel spot, eating, drinking, or taking medication. Tour boat operators must enforce this Order or will be subject to penalty by the U.S.C.G.

  • 3 hour tour of the Emerald Coast for dolphin watching with a stop to get in the water at our snorkel spot on all of our cruise times. We have great music, shaded seats, and so much more!
  • Our vessel features Neptune’s staircase for guests to board and also descends to allow guests into the water at our snorkel spot.
  • The front of our catamaran has nets to layout on and standing room on the deck for dolphin viewing with seating and shade in the back.
  • We do not sell items on board; guests are welcome to bring your own drinks, snacks, and alcohol.
  • What To Expect

  • We cruise from Fort Walton Beach /Okaloosa Island to Destin and into The Gulf of Mexico looking for dolphins. We make a stop along the bay side of Okaloosa Island.
  • Be prepared with drinks and snacks. We do not sell items on board. You are welcome to bring alcohol (21yrs or older), be careful not to bring glass bottles. Small to Med sized coolers are recommended.
  • Be prepared with towel, swimsuit and sunscreen. Spray on sunscreen must be applied before you board for safety reasons.
  • We stop to get in the water on all of our cruises. This is in shallow water on the Bay side of Okaloosa Island. Guests will be able to explore the water and shoreline for about 45 mins and then Capt continues on looking for dolphins in the Bay and the Gulf of Mexico.
  • Guests are welcome to bring your own snorkel gear. Snorkel mask and snorkel is available on board for guests use with adult and children sizes available. Capt and crew sanitize and rinse every piece of equipment as soon as the guest returns the gear. Please abide by Capts explanation on proper use of gear. Puddle jumpers and adult/kids life vests are available as well.
  • We do see dolphins the majority of our cruises. It is not guaranteed Captain and crew will be able to find them as they are wild animals in their natural environment. Some people love a sunset cruise while early morning cruises are great for water conditions and less boat traffic in peak season.
    30-45mins before departure time. Check in early to finalize payment and issue tickets at the booth window located out front of The Gulf restaurant. Crew will invite you on board in advance of departure time. Capt will have you sign a waiver and hear an important safety briefing on board. Captain will depart at scheduled time.
    Peak season we will offer a morning, afternoon, and sunset cruise departure times. Schedule changes throughout the season depending on interest and sunset time. Check out our Facebook page for updated schedule throughout the season or use Book Now to see specific availability for your dates.
    We do have a restroom on board. The Gulf Restaurant has wonderful restrooms to use before you board. Be aware that if you are cruising at the 9am time, the restaurant bathrooms will not be available that early, they will be locked.
    Our Captain and crew work hard to provide a safe and fun experience for our guests during every cruise. Please be prepared with gratuity for the crew. Cash in the tip jar at the end or add gratuity to the credit card you booked with. 18-20% is customary.

  • Easy and free parking.
  • Our check-in booth is located in the front as you park and depart out of the back of the restaurant.
  • After check-in, you are welcome to walk through The Gulf Restaurant to get down to the vessel at the boardwalk.
  • Please do not eat or drink the items you brought with you for our cruise in the restaurant while you wait to board as they are an operating restaurant with Health Department standards.
  • We offer private charters for large parties and events; minimum 3 hours.
  • The Cattywampus is a large vessel with a Capt and crew to take care of you.
  • You can have up to 47 guests on board.
  • Great for large families, weddings and wedding week events, birthdays, bachelor/bachelorette parties, and work events.
  • Spring Rates, Peak Season Rates and Fall Rates are available, call for more information.
  • Guest is welcome to bring your own drinks, food, and coolers.
  • Catering is an option to add on to a private charter at cost + service fee. We use Publix Deli catering.
  • We can provide non-alcoholic drinks, beer and wine at guest’s request; cost + service fee.
  • You can book a private charter for a minimum 3 hours up to 6 hour cruise.
  • Captain will try to accommodate to guests’ requests such as a Crab Island stop.
  • Professional Photograph is available to add on to your private charter. Ask for more information.
  • For private characters 48 hour notice is required for any changes or cancellation.

  • This restaurant is a beautiful place to dock our vessel and run our charters. We love this location for the outside seating and atmosphere, especially when we pull in at night.
  • Fast-casual food service with full bar. Open lunch and dinner with great weekend live entertainment and Happy Hour from 3-6pm daily.
  • We recommend trying The Gulf Restaurant’s food and drinks, before or after your cruise. You are welcome to bring any food or drinks from The Gulf on board.
